Time

We fly out of Nashville for Australia this evening (Fri) at 5:30 pm and get into Brisbane at 6:30 am Sunday (22 hrs). I've crossed the International Date Line 9 times in my life. When we fly Down Under we cross it and lose a day. When we come home we gain a day. One time we flew home on Gene's birthday (Oct 22) and so he had two birthdays that year. I'm not sure if he will be 64 or 65 this year--maybe he can qualify for Medicare early! Last year while we were in AU, an American friend delivered a baby in Brisbane. The little girl was born Sept 20 in Brisbane, but when Rachel called her mother, it was Sept 19 in TX and, since the whole family came back to America to live, grandmother was fairly certain her birthday should be Sept. 19. I don't worry too much about how all this affects us as long as we always return to the States after flying Down Under because I figure the days cancel each other out. But what if we STAY Down Under? Applying "Lord, teach us to number our days..." could get difficult!

Gosh, didn't know you guys were going agin..... Yes, we''d love to keep up with you and your journey down under. I'm concerned tho - if the rapture occurs while you're gone, will that put you into a different part of heaven, and we'll never find you guys...... hope not......
We leave tomorrow for Santa Barbara for my 35th class reunion. I have never been to one. It will probably have a bunch of old people there. We will fly to LA (really cheap tickets) and then take a train to SB. We are really looking forward to it. Will have an opportunity to see my uncle, he is 86 and just loves the Lord. His gift is evangelism, it's fun to watch him share with just about anyone.
Have a safe flight,
Carol
i look forward to reading about your adventures!!
You must now be in there air - my momma would always tell us to "Flap Hard" before we flew on a plane anywhere - so "Flap Hard!"
Please give all our dear 'family' there in Brissy lots of hellos and cuddles from Uncle John and Aunt Sue!!! Will indeed keep in touch while you are there. Love ya much in Him, John and Sue
wow, i'm excited to see that you'll be blogging about your life in australia...and you've started off with such a great post. that was much more interesting than, "test post...does this thing work?" :-)
oh, and don't forget to change you timezone on your blogger account.
Hi all, let me know what it is like to feel the weight of the world on your shoulders :) Have a great time!
Did you figure out how to do this, or did Dad do it for you? I'm so thankful that the world is always changing otherwise he would be totally bored! :)
School is off to a great start. Mrs. Bryan (S's teacher from last year) has E- this year. She and the other two teachers adore her, and I'm excited to be w/ them again. Stephen's attempts at the saxaphone are about to drive Elizabeth (and me) crazy. He LOVES to practice it in the car on the way to school. I have the band teacher's address!! :)
Sandee went on eharmony and is falling in love!! :) He seems like a really nice guy. She forwards me all theircorrespondance. I'mzed at how much they are alike. She's being really careful. That does seem like a good site. I know of two different couples here in G'vl who've met thru them and gotten married.....and seem to be doing great. :) (above says amazed!
Jim and S- went to Fairview today to see how the corn and beans plots are growing. I know they'll come back dirty, stinky and happy! Elizabeth is watching cartoons. She built a fort for Baillie that she truly believes he can't get out of (it's made out of blankets and pillows). Right now he's sound asleep and purring in there. I figure he's going to have to go to the bathroom soon as she fed him about 20 treats to convince him that that was a most wonderful place to be in! :)
I walked w/ Debbie Parkins yesterday. She said to tell you'all hello.
Love you both very much, b-
Excited for you both and this new mode of correspondence where distance and time travel becomes a mere footpath outside our back doors to one another. Who would have thunk it! (So glad that someone did though)We've all been made quite familiar with these new conveniences of life, but don't we all still stand amazed today. I would suppose we probably feel rather like our grandparents felt about the introductions of the tel'ies of their day.
Love you both,
ojxnomxyo....because I know how you like a puzzle
We're a thorn among the roses of His love and care.
Yes, I was able to get onto your blog site. I like the way your new neighbors speak (G'Day Mates), it adds color to the language and an interesting flair.
